May 13, 2016 Every June you can see the bright lights and hear childrens laughter mixed with the vibrant sounds of live music from the Fol-De-Rol carnival in downtown Armonk. The Armonk Lions Club will hold the four-day spring festival in Wampus Brook Park on June 9 to 12. The annual fair features over 30 craft and food vendors, in addition to a carnival with rides and games. The Lions Club also sells raffles for a variety of prizes.
Doug Martino, president of the Armonk Lions Club, exclaimed that this year's 42nd Fol-De-Rol will be “better than ever”. There will be live music throughout the entire weekend and a silent auction for two tickets to the highly acclaimed musical on Broadway, Hamilton: An American Musical.
Every year there are a plethora of vendors lined up along Wampus Brook Park. One returning vendor is Red Ginji, a jewelry vendor from Scarsdale. There will be some new vendors this year: Jill Robustelli with products such as stylish bags from My Initials Inc., and delicious pies from Ruth’s Southern Classic Desserts. There is still room for more vendors and applications can be found on the Armonk Lions’ Club website.
The Fol-De-Rol functions as Armonk Lions major fundraiser and they hope to have the community’s support and participation. Judge Martino expressed the need for volunteers to help sell raffle tickets. All the proceeds from the Fol-De-Rol support the Armonk Lions Club’s various projects which serve local, county, national, and international communities.
The colorful and exciting rides on Thursday and Friday will be open from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Saturday’s events will be from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Sunday’s events will start at 11:00 a.m. and close at 6:00 p.m.

Becky Makelainen will be back at the Fol-De-Rol for her third year to help you create your own necklaces and bracelets from a selection of charms and chains. The custom Living Lockets are a fun hands-on activity for all ages. The lockets allow you to “tell your story with charms that represent your passions, memories, and dreams.”
There is a variety of charms, which let you celebrate important milestones, commemorate the people who matter most, support causes that are near and dear to your heart, and remember the activities you love. As summer approaches, a new collection is “inspired by the fun and adventure of the season”, with charms such as starfish, campfires and bathing suits.
